The PTO Liaison/Class Parent Program is a great opportunity to get involved.
Duties of the Parent Liaison (PL) include:
• Assisting your child’s teacher in various ways both in and out of the class room.
• A PL is a volunteer who acts a liaison between the teacher, the PTO and the families
within the class.
• The PL, with the teacher’s request, shares contact information with the class
families.
• They work with the teacher and PTO to determine areas of need for parent
volunteers and to find other parents to help both inside and outside the classroom.
• They may also be asked by the teacher to help coordinate the class parties.
• They are expected to attend the monthly PTO meeting or arrange a schedule for a
class representative to attend the meeting.
• The amount and type of parent volunteering requested varies from teacher to
teacher.
• PTO may request the PL to make reminder phone calls to the class of upcoming PTO
events.
• There is at least one ‘lead’ PL in each class assisted by a team of additional
interested parents. If you are interested in becoming a PTO Parent Liaison - click here for the application .
